Nela was four years old at the time of this session and, like many children her age, much more interested in exploring than posing for photographs. That is exactly how I like to approach these sessions. Rather than asking children to stand still and smile at the camera, I give them space to move around, notice things, and enjoy the experience.

The lavender fields provide a wonderful setting for this. There is plenty to see, lots of space to walk, and children naturally become curious about their surroundings. This usually results in photographs that feel much more genuine and relaxed than anything that could be carefully posed.
